MISSION
We are an organization dedicated to preserving Gujarati traditions, while still recognizing that cultural assimilation is ever-important. We seek to expose our traditions through a number of events and functions, both religious and secular. We also strives to be an integral part of the Rio Grande Valley Community by participating in charitable events and civic activities.
VISION
GSRGV envisions a vibrant, connected Gujarati community engaged in discovering, exploring, and celebrating its culture and heritage. The caring power of members is embraced, as is the belief that the spirit and energy of community, and our participation in it, empowers and transforms the youth. The warmth, enthusiasm, and unity of our members throughout Rio Grande Valley serves as an example of all-inclusiveness, like-mindedness, and Gujarati culture expression.
VALUES
GSRGV believes celebrating culture and heritage should be safe, affordable and accessible to everyone in the Gujarati community. We believe in our community and the people in it. We foster belonging, self-expression, interdependence, and engagement.
About Us
The Gujarati Samaj of the Rio Grande Valley (GSRGV) organizes educational and cultural activities to promote the Indian heritage, and is registered as a Nonprofit organization under 501(C)(3), Gujarati Heritage Association. We believe we must nurture the youth of our community to become leaders of tomorrow in all aspects and activities. We also create educational, developmental, fitness and training resources for the youth and the adult members of our communities. We continue this philosophy by providing our senior citizens opportunities for inter-generational exchange of knowledge. We take pride in the fact that as a Gujarati community, we are prosperous and are leaders in many fields.
Activities of the Samaj
Our Main Activities of the Samaj are Kite Flying, Holi, Navaratri, Diwali, and Picnics, We are also involved in our communities with our local governments, and many charitable organizations
